UX Researcher, AWS Applied AI Solutions

Amazon Web Services, Inc.

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a UX Researcher to help shape the future of AI-native business applications at AWS. In this role, you will conduct user research that helps teams better understand customer needs, evaluate product ideas, and improve the customer experience. Your work will help reduce ambiguity, de-risk product decisions, and increase confidence that teams are building the right solutions for the right customers.

You will partner closely with designers, product managers, engineers, and other researchers to generate insights that inform feature and product decisions. You will use a range of tactical and foundational research methods to identify customer pain points, uncover unmet needs, and help teams improve adoption, usability, and trust in AI-powered experiences.

This is a strong opportunity for a researcher who is excited to grow in a fast-moving environment, build expertise in AI-powered products, and contribute to products that can have broad customer impact.

About you

You are curious about people and how technology fits into their lives and work. You enjoy learning about customer behaviors, needs, and pain points, and you are motivated by turning that understanding into actionable insights for product teams. You know how to ask thoughtful questions, listen closely, and synthesize what you learn into clear findings.

You have experience with core UX research methods and are building confidence in choosing the right method for the right question. You are comfortable working with guidance from more senior researchers and cross-functional partners, while also taking ownership of your own work and delivering high-quality results. You are excited to grow your research craft and help teams make smarter product decisions through customer evidence.

Key job responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end research across the product development lifecycle, including study design, recruitment, moderation, analysis, synthesis, and communication of findings
  • Conduct a range of tactical and foundational studies, including usability tests, interviews, surveys, and diary studies, to help teams understand customer needs and improve the user experience
  • Partner with designers, product managers, engineers, and senior researchers to evaluate concepts, prototypes, and live product experiences
  • Help teams reduce ambiguity and de-risk decisions by bringing customer evidence into product and design discussions
  • Identify usability issues, unmet customer needs, and opportunities to improve adoption, trust, and overall experience quality
  • Build domain knowledge through hands-on use of prototypes, competitive or complementary products, and ongoing learning about customer workflows and industry trends
  • Communicate research findings clearly and translate them into practical recommendations that support product and design decisions
  • Explore the thoughtful use of AI tools in the research and product development process where appropriate
