Our global team includes all levels of seniority from interns to design executives and is located across the USA, Hungary, the UK, India, Israel, and Germany.User Experience Research at IBMUser Experience (UX) Researchers working on IBM Cloud focus on uncovering and defining the user problems our teams need to solve as well as evaluating if proposed solutions solve these problems as intended. Based on a deep understanding of user needs, motivations, and behaviors, UX Researchers work with designers, product managers, and engineers to ensure that users find our solutions usable, valuable, and compelling. The IBM Cloud UX Research team spans across the entire user journey of IBM Cloud products and services by aligning our projects to the overall product roadmap rather than being embedded within product design squads. Each UX Researcher supports UX Research Operations initiatives as well.Your role and responsibilitiesAs a UX Researcher, you’ll be an essential member of a cross-functional team consisting of design, research, product management, and engineering, working together on IBM Cloud products. You will use your knowledge of research methodologies, design thinking, analysis and synthesis skills, while having a lot of opportunities to learn, build your network, and grow as a researcher. You’ll join IBM Studios Austin, where we work in a hybrid environment and spend 3 days per week in office to collaborate, learn from each other, and build our design community. In the IBM Studios Austin, you’ll work directly with the Head of UX Research for IBM Cloud, senior design leaders, and designers.As a member of the IBM UX Research community, you will join an established and impactful community of UX researchers that are responsible for leading and driving user-centered research initiatives. This is a role where you will have the opportunity to demonstrate impact and influence for product roadmaps.Responsibilities include:Collaborate with designers, developers, and business stakeholders to define and validate business requirementsCreate UX research project plans and be responsible for completing research projects from start to finishUnderstand what stakeholders’ assumptions & expectations are for UX research projectsDesign, run and complete research studies togather feedback on design concepts, prototypes, and other elements of the product you are supportingcollect and understand user needs, validate assumptions, and be part of the design process as the representative of our end userIdentify future improvements via user feedbackShare findings and insights from UX research projects with cross-functional teamsTake part in the UX research community, learning from and helping others with continuous feedback in a positive culture where we encourage experimentation, trust, creativity, and funRequired educationHigh School Diploma/GEDPreferred educationMaster's DegreeRequired technical and professional expertise3-5 years of experience as a UX Researcher with the ability to demonstrate the application of different UX Research methodologies in a business environmentUX Research methodologies: knowledge and/or experience of conducting qualitative and quantitative research methods such as interviews, surveys, competitive analyses, prioritization exercises, concept testing, contextual inquiry, and user journey mappingData analysis: Proficiency in data collection and analysis, and the ability to triangulate customer insights from a combination of data sources to derive meaningful insights.Communication Skills: Demonstrated communication and presentation skills, with the ability to leverage storytelling to effectively convey complex research findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholdersPreferred technical and professional experienceExperience with agile digital product developmentExperience with research tools: collaboration, participant management, data analysis & presentationBasic understanding of Cloud technology and familiarity with working in an enterprise environmentFamiliarity with Design Thinking methods and frameworkABOUT BUSINESS UNITIBM Systems helps IT leaders think differently about their infrastructure.
