Human Factors Engineer Role
A Human Factors Engineer will contribute to the design of human-machine systems and products, ensuring safe and successful human operation. This involves defining system performance requirements, applying human performance principles, and developing research methodologies for testing and evaluating prototypes.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in engineering, psychology, human factors, or a related field. They should have at least 3 years of experience in human engineering and be knowledgeable about military standards such as MIL-STD-1472 and MIL-STD-3009. Additionally, experience with Agile Development, documentation of HFE processes, and knowledge of Human Perception and Cognition tools are desired.
This role is part of an interdisciplinary team contributing to the C-17 program, working on activities like crew/pilot vehicle graphical user interfaces, cockpit hardware designs, and maintainability. The engineer will apply knowledge of military standards, participate in lab and aircraft evaluations, and coordinate across teams to integrate Human Engineering considerations into overall system design.
