Duration: Long term

Hiring Type: Hourly W2 ( No C2C / 1099)

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned UX Design Lead to join our team and drive the creation of user-centered, high-impact digital experiences. In this leadership role, you will balance hands-on design execution with strategic oversight. You will mentor junior designers, collaborate cross-functionally, and ensure high-quality design delivery that aligns with both user needs and business goals.

While your core strength lies in UX, you bring interdisciplinary expertise—visual design, research, strategy, or content design—to enhance the overall product experience. You’ll play a key role in fostering a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive design culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Leadership & Execution
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across UX, visual design, research, and development.
  • Own end-to-end design processes—from ideation, wireframing, and prototyping to final execution.
  • Guide the creation and evolution of functional design systems and user interfaces.
  • Present design concepts to clients and stakeholders using user-centered narratives.
  • Provide thoughtful design critique to uphold quality and alignment with business and user goals.
  • Team Mentorship & Management
  • Mentor and guide junior designers on best practices, visual hierarchy, and design consistency.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately while remaining hands-on with key aspects of delivery.
  • Contribute to studio culture by leading knowledge-sharing sessions and fostering growth.
  • May take on direct people management responsibilities (goal setting, performance reviews, etc.).

Core Skills & Expertise

  • UX Design & Research
  • Strong in user-centered design principles; able to gather insights and translate them into intuitive experiences.
  • Skilled in applying heuristic evaluations and usability principles to assess and improve designs.
  • Proficient in interaction design, prototyping, and wireframing using tools like Figma or Sketch.
  • Design Systems & Accessibility
  • Experienced in building and maintaining scalable design systems.
  • Well-versed in accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design best practices.
  • Knowledge of modern UI design trends, visual storytelling, and layout systems.
  • Information Architecture & Usability
  • Ability to organize and structure complex content and navigation systems.
  • Designs for clarity, discoverability, and efficiency across platforms.

Soft Skills & Collaboration

  • Excellent client communication—able to understand, interpret, and respond to client needs thoughtfully.
  • •Business-minded; aware of the financial and strategic implications of design decisions.
  • •Strong presentation skills; able to convey design rationale in ways that align user empathy with business value.
  • •Skilled in time and project management, balancing creative exploration with deadlines.
  • •Agile and adaptable; thrives in a fast-paced, evolving digital landscape.
  • •Collaborative by nature; works well with cross-functional partners and contributes to shared team goals.

Preferred Tools

  • Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Familiarity with generative design tools or emerging tech is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in UX, Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic Design, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6–8 years in UX/UI design with a proven portfolio demonstrating leadership in delivering digital experiences across web and mobile.
