Job Description

The Senior Research Assistant at the Brown School of Public Health

(SPH) joins a vibrant team supporting the Dean's office and related

special projects. The Senior Research Assistant is involved in

fast-paced non-laboratory research aimed at addressing key ongoing

and emerging problems in public health. Topic areas may include

health policy, global health security and pandemic preparedness and

response. Working closely with faculty and research staff from

across the School, the Senior Research Assistant supports and leads

projects, initiatives, and engagement with internal and external

partners. Due to the close proximity of this role to the Dean's

portfolio and rapid-response nature of activities, this is a

non-traditional Senior Research Assistant position, requiring a

high-level of independence and collaboration with others.

The Senior Research Assistant works closely with the Dean, Senior

Leadership Team, and other research staff on a wide-range of

engagement and project/research activities, such as project

management and documentation, qualitative and quantitative

research, administrative support, communicating with

internal/external stakeholders, and developing a variety of

creative work products (i.e. reports, op-eds, speeches,

presentations, and briefings). The Senior Research Assistant will

collaborate with other staff internally to lead research support

efforts, as well as externally to support engagement with

government, media, and other institutions. The position also

performs additional related tasks as necessary. All tasks may be

performed independently and/or without direct supervision in an on-

or off-site location. This position is based at the School of

Public Health in Providence, RI and is hybrid eligible.

This is a fixed term position with an end date of June 30, 2026,

which may be extended based upon available funding. All offers of

employment are contingent upon a criminal background check and

education verification satisfactory to Brown University. All

candidates must possess a willingness and ability to support a

diverse and inclusive environment.

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) with 3-5 years of experience

in health services/public health research (or related field).

Coursework in related fields can substitute for experience.

Experience

Experience with health policy, policy research and analysis
