User Experience Researcher Intern

The SOLIDWORKS User Experience Design team seeks a User Experience Research Intern to support research activities across desktop, web, mobile, and AR/VR platforms.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include

• Assisting in planning and conducting user research during product discovery, concept development, and detailed design phases
• Supporting and running remote usability tests, user interviews, surveys, and other research studies
• Managing participant recruitment, scheduling, and study logistics for timely and organized execution
• Contributing to exploratory and evaluative research focused on AI-assisted engineering workflows and next-generation interaction models
• Analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to uncover actionable insights
• Creating journey maps and other visual artifacts to communicate user workflows, goals, pain points, and opportunities
• Contributing to improving research operations, documentation processes, and participant management systems

About You

The company is looking for candidates who have

• Current enrollment in or recent completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Factors, UX Research, Product Design, HCI, or a related field
• Familiarity with user-centered design and UX research methods such as interviews, usability testing, surveys, task analysis, user journey mapping, and heuristic evaluations
• Strong communication skills to clearly share research plans and insights verbally and in writing
• Detail-oriented and organized with an interest in both research and operations
• Experience with UX tools like Figma, Miro/Mural/Figjam, Excel/Sheets is a plus
• Exposure to or interest in CAD, 3D modeling, or SOLIDWORKS is a bonus but not required

Compensation & Benefits

• Compensation commensurate with experience
• Total expected compensation range between $22 and $40 per hour, including base salary and target bonus
