Job Title: Human Factors Compliance Engineer

Location: Phoenix, Arizona

Position Overview - Human Factors Compliance Engineer:

The Human Factors Compliance Engineer will be a key member of the products and systems engineering team, contributing to the design and development of aerospace solutions that prioritize usability, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. The role requires close collaboration with engineering, product teams, and end users such as pilots and maintenance crews.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply expert knowledge in Human Factors Engineering and aerospace industry standards to ensure compliance across projects.
• Serve as the regulatory subject matter expert for certification strategies.
• Lead end-user acceptance testing and evaluations.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering, COE product teams, and ESEA teams.
• Develop and maintain human factors design guidelines and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human Factors Engineering or Psychology with aerospace experience.
• U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required (for government project compliance).
• 6+ years of direct experience in Human Factors Engineering.
• Familiarity with flight deck, cockpit, or control system design.
• Experience with avionics systems software and hardware.
• Pilot's license with instrument rating is a strong plus.
• Skilled in risk assessment, root cause analysis, and system safety engineering.
• Knowledge of FAA, RTCA, ARINC, and SAE regulations.
• Experience in experiment design, usability testing, and human performance evaluation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in global or diverse team environments.
• Master's or PhD in Human Factors is a plus.
