General Information
This technician position is part of the Lab Operations department, which is responsible for the daily upkeep in the General Computing Labs at JMU.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitors, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware, software, and network issues in computer labs and classrooms
- Serves as a technical resource for setup and daily operation of computing labs
- Helps upkeep documentation and inventory information
- Contributes to the IT team and makes suggestions for service improvements
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel
- Good working knowledge of computer and printer hardware and software setup and operation
- Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical customers
- Good customer service skills
