As our core product development team is based overseas, building a localized, intuitive product experience for global users is critical.

Role Overview

The UX Researcher (with strong product sense) serves as the voice of overseas users in WowNow’s product development process.

This role focuses on user research, usability testing, and UX localization, with a strong emphasis on turning insights into actionable product recommendations.

You will work closely with overseas users, operations teams, and business partners, while collaborating with China-based product, design, and engineering teams.

This role is ideal for someone who not only understands how to find user problems, but also understands how products are built and shipped.

Key Responsibilities

1. UX Localization & Product Insight

  • Identify gaps between existing product design and local user expectations
  • Evaluate UI/UX flows for clarity, usability, and cultural relevance
  • Recommend UX improvements that are practical, prioritized, and aligned with product constraints
  • Support localization beyond language, including workflows, interaction logic, and mental models

2. User Research & Interviews

  • Plan and conduct user interviews with:
  • End consumers
  • Operators / agents
  • Retail staff and partners
  • Gather qualitative insights on user needs, pain points, and behaviors
  • Build and maintain user personas and core usage scenarios
  • Synthesize research findings into clear, decision-ready insights

3. Usability Testing & Validation

  • Design and execute usability testing for prototypes and live products
  • Test key user flows in real-world environments (retail, events, kiosks)
  • Identify usability issues and validate proposed improvements
  • Support post-launch validation to ensure UX changes deliver real impact

4. User Behavior & Data Analysis

  • Analyze user behavior data to understand feature adoption and drop-off points
  • Identify friction in onboarding, creation, and completion flows
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to define meaningful UX success metrics

5. Cross-Functional & Cross-Border Collaboration

  • Clearly communicate research findings and UX recommendations to product and engineering teams
  • Translate user insights into concrete, actionable product suggestions
  • Support alignment across business, operations, product, and engineering stakeholders

Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of experience in UX research, product research, or related roles
  • Strong foundation in qualitative research methods (interviews, usability testing)
  • Demonstrated ability to influence product decisions through research
  • Strong product intuition and understanding of how software products are built
  • Fluent in English; Mandarin Chinese is a strong plus
  • Comfortable working with distributed, cross-cultural teams
