Overview The mission of the Squarespace Commerce team is to provide sellers with the tools they need to build and grow their business on Squarespace. With a priority focus on service sellers, we have an exciting roadmap of work ahead to help service sellers connect with their customers and seamlessly deliver the services and hospitality they strive for.

You will be a UX Researcher to support research within Squarespace Commerce. You will support across the Commerce team but embed with teams each half to drive high-priority work. You will work closely with product owners to guide the direction and influence of Research — staying involved with the product teams and training their colleagues to maximize their ability to understand and act upon customer needs. You will report directly to the UX Research Manager, working out of our NYC headquarters 2x a week.

Base pay and location Base pay range: $118,500.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr

New York, NY and related locations per posting. The base salary will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors. Cash compensation range is listed above; additional compensation may apply where eligible.

Responsibilities Lead end-to-end strategic research while also engaging in tactical research, including concept and usability testing.

Shape thought leadership in a specific product/feature area, champion the feature and the underlying customer needs.

Build and nurture partnerships with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, data scientists, analysts, customer support, and engineers.

Develop a toolkit of quantitative and qualitative research methods and use business metrics to prioritize a research roadmap.

Present findings to leadership and illustrate insights in ways that influence stakeholders and product roadmaps.

Identify patterns in research across teams and establish core insights that inform ongoing prioritization.

Advocate for research within the organization and guide stakeholders toward the best study areas, methodologies, and shared user understanding.

Manage multiple projects from briefing to release with support and coaching.

Qualifications 5+ years of UX Research experience (education and training considered).

Strong toolkit of research methods with ability to tailor to team needs and constraints.

Experience creating and owning end-to-end research processes and influencing product direction at leadership level.

Experience with market research and collaboration with marketing teams.

Ability to conduct mixed-method studies and teach non-researchers fundamentals and best practices for lightweight research.

Ability to provide focus and direction to multiple stakeholders amid ambiguity and technical constraints.

Basic familiarity with analytics and quantitative research, with comfort working with quantitative research partners.
