Human Factor Engineer (Associate, Mid-Level & Senior) Company: The Boeing Company Boeing has an exciting opportunity for Human Factors Engineers (Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior) to join our Human Factors Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) team in Long Beach, California. Working with interdisciplinary teams, this position will contribute to human engineering activities on the C-17 program including international and special operations customers. As a Human Engineer, this position will provide opportunities to advance your career while contributing to an exciting aerospace program. Position Responsibilities: Define system performance requirements to ensure safe and successful human operation of physical, functional, and program interfaces for Pilots, Loadmasters and Maintainers Apply human performance principles, methodologies, and technologies to the design of human-machine systems and products Develop and implement research methodologies and analysis plans to test and evaluate developmental prototypes used in new products, such as cockpit hardware designs, design for maintainer, and Crew/Pilot Vehicle graphical user interfaces Apply a knowledge of military standards (such as MIL-STD-1472, MIL-STD-1474, MIL-STD-1787, MIL-STD-3009, MIL-STD-411F and JSSG-2010 requirements) to meet program requirements Coordinate across interdisciplinary teams to integrate HE considerations into the overall system design and development Participate in the lab and aircraft evaluation and test of new and/or enhanced cockpit and cargo compartment hardware and software designs to ensure crew performance, operability, and ease of use. Take part in multidisciplinary team to develop aircrew display formats. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement 1+ years of experience in engineering Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 3+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.) (Mid-Level) 5+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.) (Senior) Experience/knowledge of military standards (such as MIL-STL-1472, MIL-STD-1474, MIL-STD-1787, MIL-STD-3009, MIL-STD 411F, and JSSG-2010) Experience supporting defense or space programs Experience in Agile Development Experience in program documentation of the HFE processes and products in a format consistent with US Military Data Item Descriptions (e.g. Human Engineering Design Approach Document – Operator, Human Engineering Design Approach Document – Maintainer, Human Engineering Test Plan, Human Engineering Test Report, et. al) Maintenance, piloting or military experience Experience in Human Modeling Experience with the user interface software prototyping tools Experience with Usability software Knowledge in Human Perception and Cognition Experience with Human Performance Modeling (ex. Summary Pay Range Associate (Level 2): $87,550- $118,450 Summary Pay Range Mid-Level (Level 3): $104,550- $141,450 Summary Pay Range Senior (Level 4): $128,350- $173,650 Language Requirements: Not Applicable Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
