JOB TITLE

Research Assistant - Pathway Intercept Survey

JOB PURPOSE

The University of Wyoming, in partnership with Friends of Pathways

and Teton County, is hiring a Research Assistant to conduct

intercept surveys with pathway users as part of a study evaluating

the usage, experience, and economic impact of the Teton County

pathway system. The position involves daily fieldwork at multiple

pathway locations across the county, interacting with the public,

administering surveys via tablet, and recording observational

data.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up and staff intercept survey stations at assigned pathway

locations

  • Invite pathway users to participate in the survey and assist

them with survey completion (paper or tablet-based)

  • Record basic observational data on passersby (activity type and

number of non-respondents)

  • Manage and maintain survey materials, equipment, and

incentives

  • Ensure data collection is accurate, ethical, and in accordance

with research protocols

  • Provide daily/weekly updates and communicate regularly with the

research team

  • Follow the rotating site schedule and travel independently to

survey locations

  • Represent the University of Wyoming and Friends of Pathways in

a professional manner

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Interest in community-based research, outdoor recreation,

tourism, or related fields

  • Ability to work independently in an outdoor setting, including

in variable weather

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and reliable; comfortable with tablets and

digital data entry

  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive a

rental vehicle daily. (Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle

record (MVR) compliant with the University Vehicle Use

Policy. )

  • Prior experience with survey administration or customer service

is a plus

WORK LOCATION

Remote/Flexible Work: This position is eligible

for remote work and/or a flexible work schedule.

Logistics and Support

Lodging provided at the AMK Ranch during the full term of the

project, including days off

Per diem provided for 40 days of active survey work

Vehicle rental and fuel are covered by the project

All necessary training, supplies, and equipment will be provided

during an on-site training with project staff at the beginning of

the summer
