Role Overview

Join the Google Ads UX team focused on Search Ads and AI-driven experiences. These temporary UX Researcher roles (L4 and L5) will play a critical part in shaping the UI of Google Search Ads (desktop & mobile). Candidates will work closely with designers and product managers to deliver actionable qualitative insights that enhance user experiences and inform product decisions.

L4 (Mid-level): Contribute to projects under guidance; ~4 years of UX research experience.
L5 (Senior): Lead medium-to-large projects with autonomy; ~5+ years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct qualitative research (IDIs, diary studies, co-design sessions, usability testing).
Analyze user behavior, attitudes, and sentiment to provide strategic recommendations.
Partner with cross-functional teams to iterate on Google Search Ads UI.
Deliver research reports, insights, and share-outs in a clear, actionable format.
Support A/B testing with directional and strategic insights (not execution).
Senior (L5) only: Manage stakeholder relationships, lead research projects independently, and ensure timely delivery of key insights.

Candidate Requirements

Experience

L4: ~4 years of UX research experience.
5: ~5+ years of UX research experience.
Strong background in qualitative research (UI/UX focus).
Experience in product-based companies preferred; startup experience acceptable if UI iteration is demonstrated.

Education

Minimum: Undergraduate degree.
Preferred: Master’s or PhD (or equivalent relevant experience).

Skills & Tools

Proficiency in UserTesting, dscout, and similar research platforms.
Expertise in UI-focused research with proven impact on product decisions.
Ability to quickly build trust with designers and stakeholders.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills to translate insights into product recommendations.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $84.00 - $110.00 per hour
