Senior Systems Human Factors Engineer

Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for leading the development of human-centered design solutions to meet complex engineering system requirements. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including program IPT counterparts, to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing architecture content and ensuring it is properly represented in the model
  • Design documentation, including interface specifications, hardware, and software interface design/development support
  • Analyses and collaboration to facilitate equipment selection, design, and arrangement
  • User group collaboration and working groups
  • Compliance with specified sections of MIL-STD-1472G
  • Cross-IPT collaboration and coordination with customers and users

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in Human Factors or an applicable field with a BS Degree, or 3 years of experience with a Master's
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to segment, program, and customer community
  • Educational background in psychology, human factors, user experience, graphic design, industrial design, or HCI-related field from an accredited university, and at least 5 years of related experience; OR at least 3 Years of relevant experience with a master's degree; OR a PhD degree
  • Active Secret clearance with an investigation date in the last 6 years; Must have the ability to obtain special program access

Preferred Qualifications

  • Large scale / complex system development experience across multiple phases of a development program: preliminary design, detailed design, integration and test, verification and sell off, transition to production.
  • Experience with implementing and using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools, practices, and methods.
  • Strong understanding and broad application of complex engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.) for the development of complex systems of systems.
