We'rehiring a User Researcher with strong B2B experience to help teams understand complex institutional workflows,validateproduct direction, and improve end-to-end user experiences across Clearwater's platform.You'llwork closely with Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to plan and execute research throughout the product lifecycle- turning insights into clear, actionable recommendations and building shared understanding across teams.

This role requires someone who can confidently navigate participant recruiting constraints common in B2B (hard-to-reach roles, limited availability, compliance/approvals, specialized domains) and clearly communicate tradeoffs, timelines, and mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and conduct end-to-end research across discovery, concepting, design validation, and post-launch evaluation usingappropriate methods(e.g., interviews, contextual inquiry, workflow studies, usability testing, surveys, diary studies, and analytics-informed research).

Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to shape research questions, definehypotheses, and ensure research is embedded into delivery cycles.

Build research plans, screeners, discussion guides, and test protocols tailoredto institutional, role-based workflows (e.g., accounting, ops, portfolio/asset roles,reporting).

Own or lead participant recruiting strategy for B2B research:

oIdentify target roles and segments, define inclusion/exclusion criteria, anddeterminesample approach.

oProactively surface and articulate recruiting risks (e.g., low incidence roles,account constraints, NDA/compliance needs, busy end-of-month cycles).

oCollaborate with Client Services, Product, Sales, and account stakeholders torecruit responsibly and minimize customer burden.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of user research experience, with significant B2B/SaaS research exposure.

Demonstratedability to research complex products and specialized user roles.

Strong qualitative research skills (interviews, contextual inquiry, usability testing) andpractical synthesis methods.

Proven experience partnering with Design, Product, and Engineering initerativeproductdevelopment.

Ability to clearly articulate recruiting challenges and propose realistic plans,

tradeoffs, and mitigation strategies.

Experience delivering insights in compelling ways-presentations, workshops, reports,and storytelling grounded in evidence.

Portfolio or case studies showing your process and impact (problem framing method choice insights influence onproduct decisions).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in fintech, investment operations, accounting, reporting, risk, or otherregulated/complex domains.

Quantitative research capability (survey design, analysis, triangulation with productanalytics).

Familiarity with enterprise constraints: permissions/roles, audits, compliance,procurement, and data sensitivity.

Experience building or scaling a research practice (templates, repositories, standards,intake processes).

Tools familiarity (examples): Dovetail/EnjoyHQ,UserTesting/Lookback,Qualtrics/SurveyMonkey, Optimal Workshop, Figma, Jira/Confluence.

Boise Salary Range: $95,000-122,000

New York Salary Range: $115,000-140,000

San Jose Salary Range: $115,000-140,000
