Research Associate, Entry Level (Molecular Cloning, In Vivo)

Engage Bio

Our Mission

Engage Bio is a preclinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering the next generation of genetic medicines. Our Tethosome platform combines the potency and safety of mRNA with the durability of DNA, delivering long-lasting, non-viral gene expression. This enables the body (e.g., liver or lung) to produce therapeutic biologics for extended periods, potentially for years from a single dose. We're developing treatments for a broad spectrum of diseases, from ultra-rare genetic disorders to common conditions that affect millions.

Our Work

Fast-paced, collaborative, and mission-driven, our work is rooted in a simple but ambitious goal: the elimination of human disease. If you’re looking for a place where your work can have a meaningful impact early in your career, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated Research Associate to support our scientific team across in vivo and cell-based activities. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with some laboratory experience or an individual with 1–2 years of industry or academic research experience.

This is a great opportunity to gain broad exposure to early-stage biotech R&D, including programs ranging from early conception to IND enabling stages.

  • State of the art scientific instruments
  • Fully stocked kitchen, regular catered scientific talks/events, and team lunches twice a week
  • Dynamic community of biotech scientists and innovators
  • Happy hours and ping pong tournaments

Your Experience

Bachelor's degree in the sciences. This role is perfect for new graduates with some laboratory experience and/or those who have 1-2 years of experience in industry / academia.

  • In vivo work (IP/IV injections, blood draws)
  • PCR
  • Molecular cloning (e.g., Gibson or Golden Gate assembly)
  • Bacterial or mammalian cell culture
  • DNA purification
  • Chromatographic purification of biomolecules
  • High throughput assays / pipetting (96- or 384-well)
  • mRNA synthesis and lipid nanoparticle formulations
  • Preparing lab media/reagents
  • Maintaining a clean and organized lab environment
  • Maintaining records of batches of reagents used different experiments
