Position type: Full-time Contract

Duration: 12 months Contract

As a Human Factor Engineer, you will

Key Responsibilities

Ideal Candidate

Engineering M.S. bioengineering or human factors major preferred or B.S.

Masters + 2 YOE

Bachelor’s + 4 YOE

Nice to have: Combination product experience. This team works with prefilled syringes 20% and 80% auto injectors.

Manager would like to see writing samples if available.

Successful candidate understands human factors engineering and has 4+ YOE prior HFE experience (not including academic; this must be industry experience). Ability to work autonomously. Is a critical thinker, detail-oriented, and a great communicator. Manager prefers bachelor's or greater in human factors engineering, biomedical engineering, or mechanical engineering.

Description

The Human Factors Engineer (HFE) / Usability Engineer (UE) contractor is responsible for supporting HFE/UE planning, research, development of drug delivery devices using HFE/UE best practices and in accordance with current regulations and guidelines within the medical device, combination product, and bio-pharmaceutical industries. This person is expected to collaborate with internal and external partners and across engineering, design, commercial, quality, and regulatory teams. This person will support human factors research driving innovative, intuitive, and useful products. The HFE contractor will support project study design and methodology. This person will lead study data collection, root cause analysis, and report writing to inform design and apply sound HFE/UE knowledge and experience to research, development, clinical studies, product validation in support of regulatory submissions.

Basic Qualifications

Master’s degree in Engineering OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of experience.

Human Factors Experience

Combination Product Development

Data / Root Cause Analysis

Nice to have: moderation skills

Practical Knowledge of existing medical standards and guidance.

This team is looking for a long-term fit and is not interested in candidates who switch positions on a regular basis. The team is not interested in a candidate who spends 1 year or less in their previous roles. Not looking for candidates that claim to be an expert. The team is not interested in anyone who previously worked in human factors. This team is not interested in someone who lacks intrapersonal skills.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS

Pay Range*: $50 - $65 per hour

• Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
