Video/Motion Researcher (editing Experience Required)

This is a 6-month, full-time (40 hours/week), remote contract role. Candidates must be local to Los Angeles, Cupertino, or New York City.

Summary

This role supports the creation of high-quality video content by researching, sourcing, and editing licensed footage that enhances digital media experiences. The Video Researcher & Editor partners closely with creative stakeholders to translate editorial concepts into compelling visual storytelling for large-scale consumer-facing products.

Our Ideal Candidate

• 5+ years of experience in video research, editing, or multimedia production within creatively driven environments
• Passion for editorial storytelling and visual narrative development
• Proficient in professional video editing tools such as Final Cut Pro or equivalent platforms
• Deep familiarity with stock footage sources, including syndication agencies, archives, museums, and galleries
• Strong understanding of licensing, rights management, likeness restrictions, and legal clearance processes
• Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional creative teams
• Able to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines
• Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving creative environment
• Strong written and verbal communication with exceptional attention to detail

Job Description

In this role, you will research, identify, source, and license compelling video content for specified projects.

You’ll partner with creative stakeholders to brainstorm concepts, synthesize feedback, and deliver visually impactful solutions.

This includes editing licensed footage, ensuring legal compliance, and contributing innovative ideas that elevate the overall user experience across media products.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• Background in film, video production, multimedia, photography, art history, or communications
• Portfolio demonstrating exceptional video research and editing capabilities

Additional Requirements

This opportunity is remote, with candidates required to be local to Los Angeles, Cupertino, or New York City

Contract length: 6 months, with potential for extension

Pay rate (W-2), based on location

Los Angeles: $57.71/hour

Cupertino: $63.29/hour

New York City: $61.95/hour
