Research Lead - Agent Systems

Strativ Group

Research Lead – Agentic AI & Autonomous Reasoning

We’re partnering with a Frontier AI Lab who are building intelligent systems capable of acting autonomously within the Physical World, reasoning about complex environments, and coordinating across tools and workflows. The team is small, highly technical (ex-Tesla, Amazon, Groq + more), and focused on foundational work that hasn’t been done before.

This is hands-on research and engineering at the intersection of AI, reasoning, and decision-making. The group is tackling core challenges around building agents that can plan, act, and learn in real-world environments, not just simulate them.

They’re looking for a Research Lead to work on Agentic AI - designing, testing, shipping and improving autonomous systems that can reason, plan, and act over time. You’ll focus on the inner workings of agents: how they represent goals, make decisions, coordinate across multiple tasks, and integrate learning with structured reasoning. This is a highly collaborative role that sits at the crossroads of reinforcement learning, planning, symbolic reasoning, and systems engineering.

Key Experience Required

  • 4+ Years' experience in AI Research, Research Engineering or ML Engineering
  • Experience with agent-based systems, multi-step planning, or autonomous reasoning
  • Comfortable working across reinforcement learning, symbolic reasoning, or hybrid neuro-symbolic approaches
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to bridge research ideas into working prototypes
  • Enjoys hands-on experimentation with both software and simulations
  • High initiative, curiosity, and interest in tackling open-ended, foundational AI problems

This is a great fit for someone who enjoys deep technical work, owning problems end-to-end, and building things that genuinely haven’t existed before - all within a low-ego, highly technical team.
